Sports’ Leaders

In September 2018, we created a ‘Sports’ Leaders’ group. This group is made up of pupils throughout school. Due to the pandemic, our Sports Leaders programme has had to run differently this academic year. During the summer term, we are going to choose 2 sports’ leaders for each class. They will be responsible for maintaining our PE and playtime equipment, as well as KS1 and KS2 sports’ leaders communicating games and activities which are working well and aiming to deliver one new game a week to their peers (with support from various staff).

In the previous academic year (2019-2020), the Sports’ Leaders enjoyed working on different projects and delivered games at break and lunch times. We watched their skills and confidence flourish.

Our Sports’ Leaders would like to say:

“We have loved being sports’ leaders so far this year! It has helped us to improve our confidence and leadership skills as well as our knowledge on a variety of sports and games. We have been able to complete projects; so far we have completed the “Aldis kit for schools” project and we are looking forward to the winners being announced. Fingers crossed we win as we would love to provide the health legacy our school deserves! We have also started the change for life project, we hope this helps us to become more healthy and active as a school. We are so excited to hear what project is in store for us in the summer term.”
